Learning The Spanish Language Can Be Very Useful And Fun Today If You Live In Ihe United States.

by George Dodge

When you first start learning Spanish, your initial word will normally be a greeting of some sort.

The single word “Hola” (the “H” is not pronounced) in Spanish translates to the English word “Hello” and is uncomplicated by any complex syntax.

When initially meeting either a stranger or an acquaintance, “Hola” is an appropriate greeting. (When answering the phone, however, Spanish speakers generally say “diga” or “bueno” in place of “Hola.”)

Whenever you meet someone, you will also have to end up saying “goodbye” them and the Spanish word for “goodbye” is “adios.”

The family of languages known as the “Romance languages” that include Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Romanian, and French usually have two forms of verbs when addressing people. Generally the two forms are commonly known as formal and informal forms. The formal form is generally used in formal settings or when speaking to a stranger, older person (not a friend or relative), or to someone of higher position. The informal form is commonly used for friends, relatives, younger people or when speaking to persons of lower position.

Following the initial greeting, one usually says something such as “How are you?” A Spanish speaker would say, “Como esta?” (formal) or “Como estas?” (informal), or perhaps “Que passa?” (What’s happening?”), “Como se va?” (formal) or “Como te vas?” (informal) for “How is it going with you?”.

When saying “Good afternoon” “Buenas tardes” is the Spanish phrase. If you want to say “Good morning, Good day, etc” “Buenos dias” is the same thing in Spanish. “Good night” is “Buenos noches.”

When meeting someone new you might ask their name by saying “Como te llamas?” (informal) or the more formal form, “Como se llama?” which literally translates as “How do you call yourself?”

These are the simplest greetings to learn and once you master these Spanish phrases the rest is easy. There are a few harder ones to learn, but not yet. The next step to learning Spanish is numbers, letters, time, asking how to get somewhere, male or female, colors, parts of the body, and relatives.

Simple every day expressions such as these greetings are some of the most commonly used in Spanish and frequent use will help build your comfort with the language.

Vehicular Personal Injury Information For Missouri Residents

July 31, 2009 | Leave a Comment

by Chris Channing

There is a lot of money involved in just about any vehicle accident. Cars today can cost just as much as your average home. It’s no surprise, then, that your attention should be focused at a personal injury claim directly after an accident involving you and another party.

First, let’s define what a vehicle personal injury claim really is. It essentially states that you or another party has been hurt as a result of unquestionable negligence. It wouldn’t be fair otherwise to pay for mistakes of others, and you don’t have to with the laws put into play in the state of Missouri. When cases can span vehicle cost and health care, the overall cost can be a financial burden to say the least.

Lawyers always like to get as much information as possible about a court case so they can do their best. They can’t do their best if your memory is juggled. Oddly enough, your memory is usually fine if you aren’t seriously injured in the wreck. It’s just that the “excitement” of the car wreck can cause your memory to become fuzzy. Record your side of the story as soon as possible.

Some get the idea that they can wait on the court case, or at least prolong it to sneak it past other parties. This is a poor idea if you want the settlement to come any time soon. It can also cost you the court case if you wait long enough. If everyone involved is fine in health, it’s best to tell them immediately of your plans. Otherwise waiting can be accepted.

Report to your auto insurance agency as soon as you can- often at least within 24 hours of the auto accident. Some auto insurance agencies won’t pay any claims that have been filed even a few days after the accident. Don’t let the auto insurance agency write you a check until you are positive on the costs of the repairs if you have full coverage insurance. Some insurance agents like to rush to process to save money.

The last step would be building the actual case. Already you should have settled your vehicle claim with the insurance agency, made the other parties aware of your actions, and built the evidence against others. At this point you can try and relax as you wait for your court date and assist your lawyer in any way that you possibly can. With a good lawyer and some luck, you can get the money you deserve.

Closing Comments

Personal injury cases that involve a vehicle typically deal with a lot of money- you don’t want to get stuck with no compensation or paying for mistakes of others. Start looking at lawyers in your area and ask advice of professionals to weigh your options, if any, and make a plan to secure your deserved court outcome.

Motorcycle claims

by Ayesha Salim

Motorbikes are often seen as an attractive option to those who prefer to travel around in a more practical way according to their needs. However, it is important to note that in taking on this means of transport, motorcyclists are putting themselves at higher risk of suffering from an accident.

There are various reasons why motorcyclists are at greater risk on the road then car drivers. For instance, the impact of a motorcyclist colliding on an object on the road will be higher and potentially more fatal then for a car or lorry driver. The motorbike offers little protection to its user due to its structure. Many of the statistics have consistently demonstrated that motorcyclists involved in the accident are more likely to suffer from serious physical injury, and most likely to be killed.

In examining these points, it is important that at the scene of the accident, depending on the physical or mental state of the person involved, crucial visual information is recorded, so that the solicitor can help you in your claim.

Most motorcycle claims involve:

Filtering between lanes

This type of accident usually involves the motorcyclist overtaking outside or between lines of traffic. In most cases the other driver would claim that the accident happened due to the motorcyclist speeding or having insufficient regard to the safety of others. However, if there is enough evidence available, the solicitor may be able to refute these claims even if speed was a factor.

Accidents caused by defects in the road

In some situations an accident occurs due to a defect in the road, such as a pothole. It will depend on the individual situation in deciding whether a defect in the road, will count as being sufficiently defective enough to pose a real danger to drivers using the road. The local council and the highway authority are responsible in ensuring that the road surfaces are regularly maintained and repaired in order to keep up with safety regulations. Hence, any applicable photographs that can be taken of the defect in the road will be useful in making a claim. Any measurements that can be taken of the defect will be even more helpful to the solicitor handling your case. It is best to do this as quickly as possible, as once the highway authorities have been alerted to the hazard, they will work to quickly fix the defect to avoid any other potential accidents.

Accidents caused by spills on the highway/objects

Various substances that are spilled onto the road can prove to be fatal for motorcyclists. These can involve anything from fuel, leftover debris, or even water that freezes into ice. If the motorcyclist collides with the object on the road, or slips on the ice, then the first steps would be to identify the person responsible for the object or spillage. In order to refute the motorcyclist’s claim, the person will have to prove that they took all reasonable steps to stop this from happening; however they will need to prove this in order to make a defence.

If you have suffered a motorbike accident, our solicitors will work with you to ensure that you obtain the best legal advice possible, and that you are able to claim for compensation.

Suits and Skinny Men

by Victor R. Santerino

Being the center of attraction is in no way fun, especially when you are tall and dressed insane unless you really love to be funny. The tips given above will help you to improve your looks and will enhance your best features, so that you will not look skinny but will definitely catch someone’s eye for being a tall and slim man.

With fashions and styles changing on a daily basis it’s very important that the tall slim man keeps up to date with the latest trends. Obviously it is also important that you feel relaxed and comfortable in the clothes that you wear.

Finely tailored and tailor made suit will be the only choice of comfort and relaxation for men who are tall and slim. Suits which are not comfortable are a constant annoyance and make the person to become self conscious about his own looks and relaxation obviously becomes difficult.

Because of the thin frame, suits which are made up of heavy fabrics will add up the bulk and make your look more appealing. Choosing clothes which might make you reveal your thin and tall frame should be avoided. Heavier wools or tweeds are ideal to be chosen as a suit material for a Tall slim man.

When the tall person chooses to buy his new men’s suit he should always opt for the lighter colors. Black and Navy blue will have a slimming effect whereas lights grays or even light blue will add weight to the wearer. Or so it will appear.

Certainly avoid any suit or other clothing for that matter with vertical stripes. Patterns are better and horizontal stripes the best, although it would probably be difficult to purchase a suit with bold horizontal stripes.

Suits which fit perfectly should be chosen other than ill fit loose ones which will make you look skinnier. If you had chosen a suit which is too tight, you will still look skinny.

Look for shoulder pads and choose a suit which does not have them. Having a shoulder pad inside your jacket will make you look even weirder, as it creates an illusion of broader shoulder with less body, giving a disproportionate look. Looking tall and skinny is much better than looking disproportionate.

Astronomy For Teens.

July 31, 2009 | Leave a Comment

by Colin Jones

Astronomy is a very exact branch of science, although many people become interested in it when they are quite young. Astronomy is a thought-provoking hobby that can teach children about the other sciences in general. Some astronomical subjects inspire kids and movies like Star Wars and they serve to increase this interest.

The Earth’s closest neighbour is the moon. Its path around the Earth takes just over twenty-seven days to complete. Mankind has only ever set foot on the Earth and the moon. The gravity between the moon and Earth is responsible for the tides. Its brightness in the night sky attracts many children to want to learn more about it and the subject of astronomy in general.

Then there’s our sun. Earth is quite far from the sun. The distance varies between about 91 million miles and about 94 million miles, although these measurements are not completely accurate. They are inaccurate measurements, because the Earth orbits the sun is in an uneven ellipse. Life on Earth is only possible because of the sun, because it provides us with important elements such as light and heat. It is not a well-known fact that the sun holds about 98% of all the mass available in the solar system. Think about how small a person is compared to that - it is truly imponderable!

The Earth is in the galaxy called the Milky Way. Like all other galaxies, it’s a very large group of gas, dust, stars and planets. Most of the area in a galaxy is filled with nothing, just empty space. In other words, most of its volume, 3,000 light years high by 100,000 light years diameter, the volume of our galaxy, is empty.

Our Earth is located somewhere in the neighbourhood of 30,000 light years from the very centre of our galaxy. The emptiness is broken up by over 100 billion stars. In fact, the galaxy was named after the thick group of stars in the main section of it.

It resembles a pool of liquid, which is why it was called the Milky Way. There are four sorts of galaxies: elliptical, lenticular, irregular and, like our Milky Way, spiral.

There is a great deal of information about astronomy on the Internet that is fit for children: it ranges from dictionaries and encyclopaedic references to programs that show the orbits of the different planets, solar systems and objects right on the computer’s monitor! In fact, there’s more information out there than a child could ever get through.

Top Tips For Saving Money With Recycling

July 31, 2009 | Leave a Comment

by Peter Shephard

This interesting article addresses some of the key issues regarding interesting recycling facts. A careful reading of this material could make a big difference in how you think about recycling.

Recycling your soda or beer cans will save a lot of energy, for instance. Recycling is the process of collecting materials that are often considered trash and re manufacturing them into new products that can be resold and used again. It is made possible by people who separate the recyclable products from their trash and send the items to a recycling center where the products are reprocessed into new items. Recycling plastics has many benefits; it contributes to energy savings and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. It also saves non-renewable sources like oil and gas.

A poll indicates that it is approximately 25% of the population who doesn’t recycle That is a lot of people, so, you might consider: “well that is normal because adults weren’t brought up learning to recycle but the kids are recycling, right”. Again you would be wrong! Recycled polyester scrap is also added to the streams of molten PET at a point prior to the moulding machines. Recycle for cash programs drastically improve recycling rates-up to a 1,000 percent increase in lower-income neighborhoods.

Hopefully the recycling information presented so far has been applicable. You might also want to consider the following interesting recycling facts:

The method is becoming more and more relevant in the current scenario when waste management is the need of the hour. This is because of the fact that wastes of natural resources are taking place at an unprecedented growth. Plastic lumberers are looking for your moderately stiff plastic bottles. In fact, there’s a market for lots of things that may be in your garbage can. Plastic is not profitable.

The numbers 1-7 are the resin codes that appear in the chasing arrow symbol typically located on the bottom of a container. Previously, only plastic bottles numbers 1 and 2 were accepted. The bins are located in trash enclosure areas outside the mall to encourage mall tenants to recycle cardboard and other recyclables. The program is meant to reduce the amount of material sent to the landfill by 35 to 50 percent. In Southern California, five or six states have used (and put back) water from the Colorado River before we ever get to it.

Recycling has experienced rapid growth as a technique to reduce the solid waste stream volume. Despite the public appeal and acceptance of recycling, the reverse logistics channels used in recycling have received minimal attention. Recycling as much of our material waste as possible is one way each of us can make a difference. The State of Oregon has set a goal of recycling 64% of the waste stream by the year 2009.

The day will come when you can use something you read interesting recycling facts here to have a beneficial impact. Then you’ll be glad you took the time to learn more about recycling.

Is it Okay to Smoke Only Half of a Cigar?

July 31, 2009 | Leave a Comment

by Dave Sabot

Some individuals hold that cigars should only be smoked halfway. There are many axioms such as these and there are enough individuals who adhere to them to keep them alive. Like most such axioms, this one is based more in myth than in reality.

This debate stems from inevitable changes that occur in the flavor of a cigar as it is smoked. This results from the act of smoking itself and from the build-up of tar in the tobacco as one works their way through the cigar. Some find this taste objectionable and some find that the cigar improves as one smokes it.

Smoking tobacco, whether it be from a pipe, a cigarette or a cigar, inevitably changes the taste and the character of the rest of the tobacco in the bowl or wrapper. As the tobacco combusts, it produces tar and the tobacco through which the smoke is drawn acts as something of a filter, catching particles of the tar and flavoring the tobacco. Most often, the tobacco becomes stronger and sharper as one smokes more of it.

Of course, as one smokes more tobacco their taste buds become desensitized to the flavor at the same time. This is part of the reason a relit cigar tastes strong during the first few puffs. Not only is the tobacco possessed of a higher tar content, the individual has presumably not smoked in a while and their sensitivity to the taste of the tobacco has returned. There are ways to mitigate this change in flavor when relighting but, when smoking a cigar straight though it is essentially inevitable.

To relight a cigar that’s gone out, the process is the same as the first light. The cigar must be warmed before lighting again. If one is outdoors, a wind resistant lighter is preferable to matches for this process. After relighting, the difference in taste will be more pronounced than when the cigar is smoked completely in one sitting. It is perhaps from such relighting that this myth has originated. A cigar is a personal thing. Its’ meant to be enjoyed by the individual and anyone who puts down the money for a fine cigar should smoke as much of it as they wish.

Eye Makeup Ideas

July 31, 2009 | Leave a Comment

by Makeup Girl

The eyes have the potential to be one of the most striking features you have to offer. If you take the time to put on a little makeup, you can really make them stand out. There are a few eye makeup tips that will help anyone achieve a great look.

One of the most important things to remember when applying your eye makeup is to use the right type of brush. You wouldn’t want to use a big blush brush to try to apply eye shadow to your delicate eyes. You will want to have a brush that is good quality as well since this can really help insure the makeup goes on with a nice consistency.

There are a lot of different types of brushes for eye makeup application. You will probably want at least two different ones. You’ll want one that gives just a little more coverage for the base shadow. And a second brush with a slightly smaller shape will be best to do the contour colors.

Another brush I love is a liner brush. The brush has a diagonal angle to it so you can use it to apply a darker shadow as an eye liner. Depending on how you hold the brush, you can apply the liner as thin or as thick as you want. I find that my eye liner stays on for a very long time with this method, especially if I have used a concealer under my eye makeup.

Mascara is always a necessity if you want your eye makeup to pop. Think of the mascara as the frame you would put around a beautiful portrait. When your lashes are dark, they help the color of your eyes stand out. Mascara helps your lashes look longer and fuller as well which helps make your eyes look open and fresh so everyone will be able to see the beauty.

For the final tip, always remember mascara if you want to make your eyes pop. You might want to even consider some eyelash extensions under the mascara. The darker lashes will help enrich your natural eye color and the length of the lashes will help to open up your eyes as much as a possible so people will be able to see your natural beauty.

Eye makeup can be the most beautiful part of your look if it is done correctly. By using a concealer to hold your makeup in place and using the right brushes, you can create a finished look that will leave people wondering who your makeup artist is.

Here are the best ways to ensure you are getting the best quality for business card printing.

Business cards are typically printed on card stock. The thickness of the paper for card stock really depends on how much you are willing to spend. The typical weight or thickness of the material your business card for business card printing is on 350 g/m2 or 12pt in thickness. Business cards should be given bleeds when they are designed especially if the color is extended to the edge of the cut size. This serves as a guide to ensure that the paper will be cut without the white edges around. The image may shift from page to page of the paper, which is called a bounce. It is usually off by a hairline on an offset press. Bleeds are usually 18 to 14 extra for all sides of the card to accommodate these factors. Finally, you’ll need to make sure your file is printed at least 350 dpi to ensure the quality comes out crisp.

Another important element to printing great business cards is ensuring CMYK process is followed. CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) is a type of printing process that overprints the colors on top of each to achieve the desired effect of the colors in your graphic file.
