Reasons That Avatar Is A Must See Movie
March 12, 2010 | Leave a Comment
After a month in the theaters, I decided it was finally time to set some time aside to see Avatar. I always try to avoid the opening weekend box office hype of any movie, and Avatar’s has been anything but short lived.
Even tonight, the theater was filled to capacity on a Tuesday night for a 10:30 showing. This really goes to show how much attention the movie is receiving. Going into it with high expectations, I was hoping not to be let down.
It always seems like if I am told that a movie is great, it turns out to be not so great. With Avatar, it was indeed an awesome movie and the fact that it was in 3-D made it even better.
This was easily the best movie I’ve ever seen as far as visual effects are concerned. Even though there weren’t many moments where everything seems to be jumping out at you, the 3D effects truly made the movie.
Cameron integrated the story line and the action tremendously, making the 3D technology seem seamlessly integrated with the plot of the movie. The experience really brought me as a viewer into the planet of Pandora and I know that I’m not the only viewer who felt like they were there.
This movie brings you into its separate world, and has more than enough fantasy to perhaps start a cult. If you have been able to see the spectacular Pan’s Labryinth, then you will more than likely get a lot out of the many mystical creatures that are in Avatar.
All in all, this was a movie for the ages. I would absolutely recommend seeing it, and I’d definitely be sure to see it in 3D.
Watching this movie in the regular way will be a great time for you, but there is no way that I would want to miss out on what I just saw in 3-D. Get your plans made to go and check out this truly one-of-a-kind movie.

A Timeless World Series Event That Is Still Amongst The Greatest
March 11, 2010 | Leave a Comment
Over 23 years later, the memories of an epic baseball game still burn bright in the minds of many baseball fans. Mets fans appreciate this game more so than anyone else, and Red Sox lovers still have nightmares about what took place on that crazy night.
The Boston Red Sox and the New York Mets went to the World Series in 1986. It was destined to be a remarkable game as they were both at the top of their leagues.
The first two games were played in New York and what a surprise it was when the Red Sox won them both. It was not looking too good for the Mets and they, along with their fans, were down.
Fortunately, the team’s fortunes turned during the next few games and the Mets evened the series before falling behind by a 3 games to 2 count. Game 6 would give the Red Sox a chance to close out the series in Queens.
This is what it appeared was going to happen when the Red Sox were leading by two runs and the game was in the bottom of the 9th with no Mets players on any of the bases. Everyone assumed the game was nearly over and the celebration had almost begun.
Somehow, the Mets kept the game alive with a few base hits after being down to their last strike on several occasions. Before long, a wild pitch sent a runner home, tying up the game. The crowd was uproarious; this was history in the making.
Then, something very unexpected happened next. The first base line is where Mookie Wilson hit a dribbler to and it should have been a super-easy out and the end of the game. However, the ball traveled right through Bill Buckner’s legs which resulted in a run being scored by Ray Knight and the Mets getting the win.
After winning the sixth game, the Mets then also won the seventh game of that World Series. It was truly one of the greatest and quite memorable games that was ever played in professional baseball history.
There are lots of fans of baseball who firmly believe that this game was the greatest one to ever be played in baseball. And, looking back on how it all came to be, you can’t really argue that, can you?

Fascinating Zoo Creatures Worth Visiting
March 11, 2010 | Leave a Comment
One of my favorite places to visit is the zoo; this is a life long passion. Lucky enough to grow up in San Diego, I had one of the greatest zoos right on my doorstep and many a happy childhood weekend was spent there, wandering around and gaping in awe at the amazing array of animals that were there to be admired. This really made me appreciate the wonders of the natural world.
If you grew up, like me, is a city that housed a magnificent zoo like San Diego, you too will probably have a great love of these wonderful attractions. As a child, most of my spare time was taken up by return visits to the zoo, every time there seemed to be something different to discover. The sheer volume of animals of all different species awoke a passion in me that still exists today.
One of the most entertaining areas to visit in a zoo is the Dolphins. A lot of people are under the misconception that these clever creatures are fish, when in fact they are mammals. They are of a very sweet disposition and love human contact.
A trip to the primates is next. Chimps, Baboons, Orangutans, they all fascinate me. Their close resemblance to ourselves is quite remarkable, these rank right up there with the Dolphins.
The comic genius and interaction between these animals is hysterical. If you are feeling a bit blue and need cheering up, go and spend some time watching the Chimps, Monkey’s et al; they will brighten your day no end.
Last, but definitely not least, are those giants of the animal world known to you and me as Elephants. Their sheer size belies their sweetness and intelligence.
If you go to a zoo that has Elephants, make sure they are on your itinerary. These are creatures that can captivate an audience for hours.
These are my top three animals to visit on your next trip to a zoo. Try and make a point of visiting them, for sheer entertainment value, they can’t be beaten.

Important Attributes Relating To Tennis Courts Made Of Red Clay

If you play tennis, or even are just a spectator, you will be aware of that unique red playing service known as a clay court. This surfaces dates right back to the original game, and is particularly popular in the tennis playing countries around the Mediterranean.
There is no other surface quite like clay to have a game of tennis on. The strong red color is very attractive and literally makes tennis a whole different ball game!
Whether or not you have yet to experience playing on a red clay court, I have a few fascinating facts about this unique surface to share with you.
A player who constantly serves and volleys on other surfaces will find themselves really struggling on the class. As will those whose success depends on the accuracy of their booming serves.
If you do ever see a player approach the net while playing on clay, it is a very rare thing indeed. Those who rely on their booming serve will also find that it hasn’t the effect on this surface as it does on others.
There are a lot of players these days who class their serve as their strongest weapon; unfortunately, it will not win them matches on the clay courts. The same goes for those who prefer to volley.
You won’t see the ball speeding up after it has hit the clay, as you would on a hard court. The thick clay will have the opposite effect.
So the ball is slower and as a result bounces a lot higher. This means your opponent has longer to reach the ball and return it, thus making the game go on for longer. Some matches on clay have literally gone for hours.
The rallies are obviously longer and shots easier to reach than they would be on the fast courts. A sure fire winner on grass is probably reachable on clay.
Although the ball is easier to reach, the faster player will always have the advantage over their slower opponents.

Guidelines - Making A Green Screen Hollywood Studio
March 10, 2010 | Leave a Comment
Even struggling film makers and film students now have the chance to produce excellent films, as a result of the assistance of an improvised green screen. The green screen Hollywood method or “chroma key technology” is on hand to everyone. It just takes a couple of hours, paint, papers, paint rollers, and a few tape to produce a personalized screen. Here are some simple steps on how to create a green screen. Upon completing this, there defintely won’t be any need to lease expensive studios!
Get a suitable place. The most effective location for a green chroma key screen is really a place having a large wall. The area must also be open. Ask people around you if they can free their shed. This may be the temporary studio. As soon as the right place is found, buy the required products.
Go shopping for fresh paint and other necessities. When searching for paint, select the optimal hue of green. It really should not be very light or way too dark. Additionally ensure that the paint is the flat type. It is because glossy paint may magnify light and result in bothersome blemishes to the film. After finalizing the color, buy the other art work products. Buy several paint rollers, color trays, and artwork adhesives. Also gather outdated newspapers. This can serve as shielding linings to areas of the studio which shouldn’t be colored green. After collecting all the needed things, proceed to producing the Do it yourself green screen Hollywood.
Specify boundaries. Line the top of the floor near the supposed chroma key space with paper. Preferably, the lining needs to be three tiers thick. This would be enough to prevent the floor from any color splatters. Adding more pieces of paper is optional. Right after positioning old newspapers all over the work area, safeguard them with tape. That is so that the newspapers will not shift as the work is getting done. Furthermore, line the edges you want to color with tape. The tape needs to be placed as a protective edge for other parts of the wall that shouldn’t be painted green. Once this is achieved, start painting.
Make some art for art. Paint the walls using a roller brush. The strokes needs to be even, to ensure that the colour and finish will be consistent. Remember that the screen will be utilized to produce movie gems, so it is important to apply color appropriately. After painting the entire area, wait for the paint to dry before taking off the tape and newspaper linings. After the pain has dried up and all the linings are taken out, the screen can now be used. Along with inexpensive materials, anyone may use green screen Hollywood technology to make movies.

How To Efficiently Utilize Green Screen In TV Production
March 10, 2010 | Leave a Comment
The advent of satellite tv has seen the digital explosion of TV channels, broadcasters, production houses and content makers. It is because cable TV and direct to home platforms have indeed pushed the frontiers of tv broadcasting beyond all imaginable limits and on to a worldwide scale. It’s perfectly logical that Television networks across the globe utilize the usage of a Green screen.
One of the widespread methods that are used in tv program production is that of using a Green screen in the background of the studio where a specific programme is being shot. This is part of the technique of chroma key which deals specifically with the elimination of certain images in the background of the shot and superimposing this with another image, which is more suitable for the production. For instance, one can use a screen that is green in colour behind the broadcaster who is reading out the weather news. When viewers view the program, the green or blue screen as the case might be, is actually replaced with a weather chart or scenes of particular cities or satellite images.
A Green screen is especially useful for chroma key uses, on account that the conventional human skin tone has very little elements of green in it. This helps in the better level of quality of image superimposition plus the alternative of background, without interfering much with the basic image of the broadcaster who is positioned in the foreground. If there had been any green tint or tone in human skin, elements of the body would seem invisible when utilizing the other coloured screen, making the effect quite odd and very inappropriate and out of place.
One of the primary advantages of using a Green screen is that it is fairly easy to implement as well as being cost effective. If one were to use an enormous plasma or High definition tv display behind the broadcaster, the effect could be marvellous, but the cost would be far larger compared to that of using a green screen. In these times of economic downturn, cost management would be the key and the dice is loaded towards using cheaper options.
It’s possible to easily make a Green screen that may be used in Television programme production. With this, simple things like a table cloth may be used. This fabric has to be evenly painted, so that there are no smudges or uneven areas that could stand out when the show goes on air. One can also work with a plain wall that is equally painted in green to create the coloured background. Among the tricks to remember when using trees or forests as the background image is not to make use of green. Green is often a much more appropriate colour to use if the backdrop is the image of the sea or of the sky. Employing a green screen is therefore a highly effective way of utilising chroma key technique in TV programme production, which is popular because of its simplicity and inexpensiveness.

The Remarkable Cards That You Can’t Mix Up
March 10, 2010 | Leave a Comment
This is a great magic trick that uses a deck of cards, and is always a hit with the kids. Even adults will have no clue how you do this amazing trick. The cool thing is that it requires no sleight of hand or any hidden cards or anything like that. This is a self working trick, meaning that it will always work, every time. And when they figure out how it’s done it will be amazing, but only if you show them.
Here’s how the trick seems to your amazed observers. You have all the cards of the same suit taken out of the deck. So you’ve got all the hearts, or clubs, or whatever. Have them arranged in order, starting from the ace, and ending with the king. If you are doing this with children, you can even have them set the deck up for them.
After you’ve got it set up, then you go through the deck once, showing them all that they are certainly in order, beginning from the ace, and ending at the king. If you like you can offer them the short stack and have them confirm for themselves to make sure there is nothing funny going on.
Then elucidate the deception to them. You have the stack face down. If they say “deal,” then you take one card off the top, and place it face down on the board, in a new stack. If they say “double deal” then you take two cards off the top, reverse the order and then place them face down in the same stack. Do this until you’ve gone through all the cards. Tell them that they have to keep in mind the new order that the cards are in. While they are busily trying to re analyze the order, you pick up the new stack, and begin to turn each card over one by one. They will be amazed to see that the cards are still in the same order, starting from the ace, up to the king.
Most frequently, they will ask you to do it again, and again. And the cool part is, since this is a self working trick, they can do it themselves and it will still work. The reason it works should be obvious once you do this a few times. If you take only one card off the top, and place it in the new stack, (deal), or take two cards, and reverse the order, placing them in the new stack (double deal) they still end up in the same order, no matter if you deal or double deal them. To observe how this works, do the trick with all the cards facing up, and you’ll see how it works out.
This is incredible for kids of all ages, and several of them will never guess how it works even after they do the trick themselves. Of course, you’ll sporadically run into a young logician or natural mathematician who’ll see right through this trick and recognize how it’s down. Nonetheless, this trick is magnificent for endless amounts of entertainment, even with adults. Have fun with this easy trick.

What Is Movement Training For Actors?
March 9, 2010 | Leave a Comment
If you intend on making a career for yourself on the stage or on film, you need to know what is good movement training for actors. The nuances in movement are just as–if not more–useful than how you look and how you deliver lines. It is one of the hardest things for people to master. Sure, you can mimic how a person from a certain background might talk. But can you move as they would move? This is the difference between decent actors and great actors.
One of the best places to start is in a dance class. Ballet, specifically, teaches you how to control your body and muscles. Ballet’s greatness and difficulty comes from the fact that you must learn how your lines feel. Great dancers should know purely by feel when their leg is at a thirty degree angle or when their hips are not turned out enough, or if their arm is not perfectly rounded.
All measures of dance are fantastic, even if you are an actor who only wants to play ‘tough guy’ roles. Not only does it teach you how to properly control and contort your body, but you should also use any opportunity to learn new skills. You never know what part could be your big break. It could be the part of a mafia don who has a specific way of moving and knows how to swing dance. Never underestimate how specific and strange different roles can be.
Stage combat is a vastly useful class to take. Safety, especially if you are intending on being a stage actor, is one of the biggest components in your career. Many a career has been cut short or jobs lost to understudies because of an injury. In addition, combat will train you to mime very well and fake pain or anger. It is difficult to realistically portray someone in pain when you yourself feel nothing. It can often be very over-acted and look silly.
These are important trade secrets to learn. It will also give you an opportunity to think of your own stage combat moves that could be very complicated and exciting for an audience. The facial training you will gain from this is invaluable. By teaching yourself to look pained or upset–and by teaching yourself to hide actors’ tricks from the audience–is what separates mediocre actors from good ones.
The Alexander Technique is a study of movement specially designed for actors. It is often a required course for any acting or drama degree. It also involves safety measures, but it is more in terms of preserving your knees on unforgiving stages and keeping good posture for back safety. This is a crucial course when it comes to learning your body and how to best control it.
By treating your body as building blocks that must all be stacked correctly, you can manipulate the ’stacking’ to get across certain characteristics or emotions. This also helps teach you how to fill your diaphragm with air so you can be louder on stage. The Alexander Technique is sometimes used to help medical patients relieve stress on some of their body.
