The Quickest Ways To Lose Twenty Pounds - The Inside Track
June 21, 2010 | Leave a Comment
The Business Of Losing Weight Can Be Scary! And huge business empires have grown out of this. The turnover of the weight loss industry is colossal - it amounts to billions of dollars - and so there are plenty of opportunities to profit from our ambitions to be slim.
Just How Much of a Problem Is There Then? Whether you personally are obese or not, the chances are you’d be happy to lose some weight. It’s understood from recent surveys that more than two thirds of American people are overweight. In other words, 210,000,000… What’s more, it’s not a great deal less elsewhere. This can’t go on.
Take the United Kingdom - nearly a quarter of all adults are considered obese. This figure is set to get much higher. By 2050 the obesity level could be ninety per cent!
We HAVE to take corrective action now. Not one of us wants this situation - either for ourselves or others. We need good healthy eating regimes that suit our lifestyle - not ’shakes’ and pills that don’t work!
It’s a well known fact that obesity can lead to many major problems - Type two diabetes; mental health problems; high blood pressure; heart disease & heart failure; cancer; liver disease; osteoarthritis and high cholesterol. So our health is at stake - the weight must come off.
Reducing your weight and getting into good physical shape is more important than being thin. In truth, we most likely have a gut feel for the weight that works best for our body.
We should also teach our kids about good health. We should educate our youngsters from an early age, helping them to form good habits from the start. We’ll have to endure the consequences if we don’t make some changes - the really sad thing is so will our kids. We can surely adopt better parenting skills than that?
So not to put too fine a point on it - we have to become more nutritionally aware before the problem gets any bigger. It’s only when we’ve got a handle on healthy eating ourselves that we can teach it to others. But more than just the next generation - we could help to reverse the obesity trends we were discussing above if we start to get it right now.

Personal Insights - The Best Ways To Lose Weight Safely
June 20, 2010 | Leave a Comment
Barely a day goes past without the media bombarding us on the state of our health and weight problems. The problem is there always seems to be a good reason not to do anything about our own weight challenges. Somehow the right message needs to get across, because you’re not being told the whole story.
Fat Retention Problems? - You’re Not To Blame… A quick reality check to start with - It’s not that we’re telling you you’re powerless to change things. Simply that you’ve been led a dance by the profit-hungry diet industry.
This article intends to help you change all that. You deserve to have a better life - free from the pain and suffering that weight problems bring.
There are a whole mass of explanations about why we’re so big - and the finger’s not always pointing to ourselves. The thing to realize is it’s time to change - by educating ourselves the RIGHT way. Life doesn’t have to be such a struggle.
Visualise this scenario - a Toyota needs fixing, but the mechanic’s been issued with the tools to fix a Ford. Not the right tools at all! Nothing’s the right size!
It’s impossible for a mechanic to do the repairs with the wrong equipment. Having the appropriate tools for the job in hand is VITAL. With the wrong technology, it doesn’t matter how skilled the man is. And losing weight is no different. Therefore we want to provide you with the RIGHT tools to solve your problem.
Of course, everyone is different. Life is more interesting that way. Some things work for some people but don’t work for others. Depending on your needs, you should to be allowed to go through the best systems and opt for the optimum one’s for you.
We probably realise what times of day we find diet programs harder to cope with. If we have little to occupy our time, slimming regimes can be tough. Thus we can see that our long established habits are very relevant to our ability to lose weight. Powerful programs are what we need - to gently but firmly help us to create a new way of living life to the full.

Ideas For ‘Off Page’ SEO
June 13, 2010 | Leave a Comment
In our previous article, we covered the basic theory of SEO and talked about ‘On Page’ factors. Off-Page is much more critical though. Picture it as a system that appoints votes. If another site places a link to your site then that site has given you a vote of confidence. It’s as if they’re promoting the value of the site.
The link has a couple of key features. Firstly it contains the specific URL of the page. Followed by the anchor text (sometimes referred to as the keyword phrase) that’s highlighted on the actual web page. This equals a vote for the specific page with the keyword phrase. i.e. one vote towards this site appearing higher up in the natural listings when we type that phrase in the search box.
It is always so. There is a binding association between the recipient page and the anchor text. Otherwise it doesn’t work! It’s the anchor text that the SE’s use to tell them what that page is about and what it should show up under when searched for. It’s ESSENTIAL to understand this - The anchor text determines the search terms your site will be rated for.
Thus you’ll understand why highlighting ‘Click Here…’ creates no value in SEO terms. In this example, we created a vote for the phrase ‘Click HERE’. Can you think who’d search for ‘click here’? No-one of course.
So that explains why Anchor Text takes some thought and consideration. Since it stands for all the terms you want to be searched for. And by the way, if you DO Google “Click Here” you will always find the Adobe Reader download site at the top. Is that because it describes their site? Definitely not. But so many sites have a ‘Click HERE to download Adobe Reader’ link on them, that they’re number one for that phrase.
So to count a ‘vote’ for a web page, the Search Engines always go to the anchor text. Which is very logical. Google wants to emulate what a real human being is looking for and would like to find. The content of your page isn’t necessarily relevant. You’ll rank for the terms in the anchor text phrases that point to you. That’s irrefutable!
Unsurprisingly, there are other aspects as well… Because the SE’s also use the page title and wording of the page being pointed at to correlate the results. As well as a variety of other things. (To give you an idea, the spread of the sites linking to yours, and their relevancy to your site).
However, let’s be quite clear - the most important thing by far for SEO is a stuff-load of back links! Plus the back-links have to have the right anchor text phrases and be from many different and varied sites. How much authority a site has is also relevant… A back-link from Microsoft.com or Adobe.com would be worth a lot more than a back-link from a local hardware store!
Picking the keyword phrases that you want to rate for is an art in itself. (Research your competitors well before you plump for yours.) The main thing is - When someone is looking for your product, what words do they use for their search? When you know that, you know which keyword phrases and anchor text to use.
Interesting answers often come up when you do your researches and tests. As a matter of fact, the phrases are very often not at all what you’d expect. So many different phrases come to mind when we think of what to search for. Someone may type in SUPPORTIVE MATTRESS if they’re looking for a better night’s sleep. Yet ‘more sleep please’ could be someone else’s first thought.
Would you really want to trust your marketing to vague ideas and feelings about what might be typed in? We can’t over-stress the need to TEST and MEASURE all the phrases you’re considering using. They’ll form the basis of ALL the visitors you’ll get to your website. An analogy could be drawn with a listing in the Business Yellow Pages. You won’t receive any calls if you’re listed under an inappropriate heading. Similarly, for effective and profitable optimisation on-line, you must perform thorough keyword research and analysis.

Inside Knowledge - Effective Weight Loss Solutions
June 1, 2010 | Leave a Comment
These days, we’re given a lot of conflicting diet information. Dieting is a billion dollar industry, and too many products and fads are marketed claiming to be ‘The Latest Miracle’. Here’s what we discovered about weight loss programs when we sorted the wheat from the chaff…
Our quest was to discover real information, written by authors of merit. People who recognised what we needed, and could teach good nutritional habits. Factual material, not sales bumph! So a dependence on expensive diet products was out - we simply endeavoured to find solid, practical solutions.
The three we liked best are all reassuringly sound. They don’t push the latest ‘quick fix’ pills. (We weren’t that naive!)
Our chosen programs have been written by insightful individuals that comprehend the issues associated with obesity. They offer practical guidance and workable instructions on banishing the fat for good. You’ll discover ’secrets’ about nutrition that everybody should be told in school. Your family and close friends will notice the change in you VERY quickly.
There Is A Way Forward Then? Without doubt - though few have discovered it under the mass of rubbish! But you can rest assured we have found practical workable solutions that will give you what you want.
We’re aware that battling with diet after diet has been a reality for many of us. Some regimes result in weight loss for a time, but then it all rolls back on again as soon as we stop. The vast majority of diets fail. Sometimes the program just isn’t sustainable, and sometimes we don’t see results.
It’s a little known fact, but professional sports people attribute a great deal of their performance to their diet program. Optimal, tuned-up fitness may not be something you strive for, but the research benefits more than just sports men and women. Taking these results and developing them into optimal programs for real men and women has given us all the chance for successful weight management.
But we have to stop putting things off. Real results can come very quickly once we start. But we’ll get no-where if we always put things off. Just make the effort to get going. Then congratulate yourself!

Search Engine Optimisation - The Current Situation
May 12, 2010 | Leave a Comment
The ever developing skill of learning how Search Engines position sites on their organic search listings is known as Search Engine Optimisation. These lists are the main results that are shown when you do a search. They’re in addition to the PPC lists. The paid listings are typically in a yellow section at the top of the page, and in a column down the right hand side. All the rest have naturally been put into position. Algorithms are used to determine the position of a web site in a Search Engine directory.
We want to be right up there where we can be seen. Nobody will know we’re there if we’re way down on page eight! It’s impossible to know about all the SE’s rank determining factors. They don’t want us to know.
Because of this, much technical expertise has developed around the subject. On the Search Engine side you have upgraded technological patents being regularly filed. (To cause as much uncertainty as possible!) And then you have an industry built around SEO. This involves measuring various factors and doing empirical tests to establish the most important ones to target.
There are two sides to SEO: ‘On-Page’ factors & ‘Off-Page’ factors. Additionally, demographics have an influence, but SEO doesn’t cover off-web factors. (We will cover off page optimisation in a separate article.)
On Page Optimisation
Making changes directly to website pages to make them more Search Engine friendly is what On-Page SEO is all about. It’s not too complex - it just requires setting your website up the right way. The following summarises what’s required - Using internal links, keywords, header tags and meta tags.
That might sound like gobbledy-gook, but don’t be alarmed! In reality, this is very easy to control, but not wildly effective. Indeed, it could be said to basically not have much influence at all. It used to be possible to ‘trick’ the Search Engines with on-page factors several years ago. But that’s no longer the case.
The only time that ‘on-page’ becomes important is when you have taken care of ‘off-page’ and have a lot of inbound ‘back-links’. In that circumstance, some On-Page tweaks and internal links can have an impact.
A Bit of Advice… Avoid doing SEO on keywords that have millions of listings. ‘Car Insurance’ is a term to stay away from - unless you want to compete with 70,000,000 others! When you’re just getting going, it’s not a great idea to face such huge competition!
But… A much smaller list (300k) comes up when I enter ‘Southampton car insurance’. (Which could be useful if I sold car insurance in Southampton!) This still seems quite a large amount, but it’s actually not in search terms.
We can do much more with this. Trying to get a ranking for CAR INSURANCE would take a huge amount of time and money. I’d actually be head to head with the really big boys. A bad move all round really.
Therefore, we’re looking for phrases that yield less overall results - but quite accurately sum up what we do or what we offer. In Search Engine terms, these phrases (which can have a number of keywords) are referred to as long-tail. If your market’s very competitive, you could be selecting seven word phrases. Generally we use 3 to 4 words.
We like to start Search Engine Optimisation using terms that yield less than 500K. (If the sites on the front page haven’t used SEO techniques, then we might go with bigger yields). We’ll automatically move up the ratings for the more popular search terms as we gain more back-links. If we put in enough effort, we can go after those big phrases in 3-12 months time. A line of attack like this makes business sense. We’re after the people who are really looking to buy, so we go for phrases that convert well.
You should also build back links to various different pages - and not just your website’s homepage. This is known as deep linking. For example, build links to the pages that group products. That’s because pages like this generally have links to several individual pages. Don’t just create back-links to your home-page. Google and the other SE’s are looking more and more at how individual pages on your site are listed and treated.

Thinking About Microsoft SQL Computer Career Training Clarified
March 24, 2010 | Leave a Comment
All of us are short of time, and usually if we want to learn a new profession, getting educated alongside a job is what we have to do. Microsoft authorised training could be the answer.
In addition, you may hope to be given advice on the sort of careers to be had after you’ve completed your training, and the kind of person such a career may be appropriate for. The majority of students prefer to discuss what the best route is for them.
When you’ve settled on the job you’d like to get into, a relevant course needs to be singled out that’s suits your ability level and skill set. This can be personally tailored for your requirements.
It’s so important to understand this key point: You absolutely must have proper 24×7 support from professional instructors. We can tell you that you’ll strongly regret it if you don’t.
You’ll be waiting ages for an answer with email based support, and phone support is often to a call-centre that will make some notes and then email an advisor - who’ll call back sometime over the next 1-3 days, when it’s convenient to them. This is not a lot of use if you’re stuck and can’t continue and only have a specific time you can study.
Top training providers tend to use a web-based round-the-clock system combining multiple support operations over many time-zones. You’ll have an environment that switches seamlessly to the best choice of centres irrespective of the time of day: Support available as-and-when you want it.
Don’t under any circumstances take a lower level of service. Online 24×7 support is the only way to go with IT learning. Maybe late-evening study is not your thing; but for most of us, we’re at work when traditional support if offered.
How the program is actually delivered to you is often missed by many students. How is the courseware broken down? And in what order and do you have a say in when you’ll get each part?
Many think it logical (when study may take one to three years to achieve full certification,) that a training provider will issue one module at a time, as you pass each element. Although:
What would their reaction be if you find it difficult to do each and every module at the required speed? Often the staged order doesn’t come as naturally as some other order of studying might.
To provide the maximum security and flexibility, many trainees now want to have all their training materials (which they’ve now paid for) sent immediately, and not in a piecemeal fashion. It’s then up to you at what speed and in which order you want to go.
Always expect authorised exam simulation and preparation programs as part of your course package.
Because many IT examination boards come from the United States, you need to become familiar with their phraseology. You can’t practice properly by merely answering any old technical questions - it’s essential that you can cope with them in the proper exam format.
Why don’t you verify your depth of understanding through quizzes and mock ups of exams to prepare you for taking the actual exam.
Some training providers supply a practical Job Placement Assistance facility, to help you get your first job. Sometimes, there is more emphasis than is necessary on this service, as it’s relatively easy for well qualified and focused men and women to land a job in IT - as there is such a shortage of well trained people.
You would ideally have help with your CV and interview techniques though; and we’d recommend everyone to work on polishing up their CV right at the beginning of their training - don’t delay till you’ve finished your exams.
You may not have got to the stage where you’ve passed your first exam when you’ll secure your initial junior support role; however this can’t and won’t happen if interviewers don’t get sight of your CV.
If you’d like to keep travelling time and costs to a minimum, then you may well find that a local (but specialised) recruitment consultancy could work much better for you than some national concern, for they’re going to know the jobs that are going locally.
To bottom line it, as long as you focus the same level of energy into landing a position as into training, you won’t have any problems. A number of students bizarrely spend hundreds of hours on their training course and do nothing more once certified and seem to suppose that interviewers know they’re there.

CompTIA Network Plus Training Providers Revealed
March 17, 2010 | Leave a Comment
In these days of super efficiency, support workers who are qualified to solve problems with PC’s and networks, and give constant solutions to users, are indispensable in all sections of the business environment. Our requirement for such skilled and qualified individuals is constantly growing, as everywhere we work becomes significantly more technologically advanced.
Considering the amount of options that are available, does it really shock us that a large percentage of career changers balk at what job they will enjoy.
What is our likelihood of grasping the day-to-day realities of any IT job when we’ve never done it? Often we haven’t met someone who works in that sector anyway.
To get to the bottom of this, there should be a discussion of a variety of different aspects:
* Which type of person you think yourself to be - the tasks that you find interesting, plus of course - what you definitely don’t enjoy.
* Do you hope to reach a specific aim - for instance, becoming self-employed someday?
* Where do you stand on job satisfaction vs salary?
* Always think in-depth about the work required to get fully certified.
* How much effort you’re prepared to spend on the training program.
When all is said and done, the most intelligent way of covering these is by means of an in-depth discussion with a professional who understands the market well enough to lead you to the correct decision.
Doing your bit in revolutionary new technology really is electrifying. Your actions are instrumental in impacting progress around the world.
Computing technology and communication through the web will noticeably alter our lives over the coming years; to a vast degree.
And keep in mind that typical remuneration in the world of IT in the United Kingdom is significantly better than the national average salary, therefore you’ll be in a good position to earn much more as a trained IT professional, than you’d get in most other industries.
The good news is there’s not a hint of a downturn for IT jobs growth in Great Britain as a whole. The sector continues to develop rapidly, and with the skills shortage of over 26 percent that we’re experiencing, it’s not likely that there’ll be any kind of easing off for the significant future.
Quite often, students have issues with one aspect of their training very rarely considered: The breakdown of the course materials before being physically delivered to you.
A release of your materials piece by piece, according to your own speed is the usual method of releasing your program. This sounds logical, but you must understand the following:
Students often discover that the company’s standard order of study is not what they would prefer. Sometimes, it’s more expedient to use an alternative order of study. And what happens if they don’t finish at the pace they expect?
In an ideal situation, you’d get ALL the training materials right at the beginning - giving you them all to come back to at any time in the future - as and when you want. Variations can then be made to the order that you complete each objective if you find another route more intuitive.
Exam ‘guarantees’ are sometimes offered as part of a training package - they always involve paying for the exam fees up-front, when you pay for the rest of your course. Before you jump at this so-called guarantee, be aware of the facts:
Certainly it’s not free - you’re still coughing up for it - the cost has just been rolled into the whole training package.
Evidence shows that when students fund their own exams, when they’re ready to take them and not before, they will be much more likely to get through on the first attempt - because they’re aware of what they’ve paid and their application will be greater.
Find the best exam deal or offer available at the time, and avoid college mark-up fees. You’ll also be able to choose where to do your exams - which means you can stay local.
A lot of current training colleges make big margins because they’re getting in the money for exams at the start of the course and cashing in if they’re not all taken.
Re-takes of previously unsuccessful exams through companies with an ‘Exam Guarantee’ are monitored with tight restrictions. They’ll insist that you take mock exams first till you’ve proven conclusively that you can pass.
Shelling out hundreds or thousands of pounds on an ‘Exam Guarantee’ is remiss - when a commitment to studying and the use of authorised exam preparation tools is actually the key to your success.

IT Study Providers Uncovered
March 17, 2010 | Leave a Comment
There are a total of 4 specialist training sectors in the A+ syllabus, but you’re just required to achieve pass marks in 2 to gain A+ competency. But only studying two of the specialised areas might well not equip you for a job. Choose a course with all 4 subjects - for greater confidence in the world of work.
Courses in A+ computer training cover fault-finding and diagnostics - both through hands-on and remote access, as well as building, fixing, repairing and having knowledge of antistatic conditions.
If you would like to be a man or woman who works for a larger company - fixing and supporting networks, add Network+ to your CompTIA A+, or alternatively look at doing an MCSA or MCSE with Microsoft in order to have a better comprehension of the way networks operate.
Trainees looking to start a career in IT normally haven’t a clue what direction is best, or which market to get qualified in.
I mean, if you have no know-how of IT in the workplace, what chance is there for you to know what some particular IT person does each day? Let alone decide on what educational path provides the best chances for you to get there.
Getting to a well-informed answer really only appears from a thorough analysis covering many varying criteria:
* Your hobbies and interests - these can show the possibilities will satisfy you.
* Is your focus to re-train due to a specific reason - for example, is it your goal to work based from home (working for yourself?)?
* What salary and timescale needs you have?
* When taking into account all that Information Technology encompasses, it’s a requirement that you can absorb what’s different.
* You will need to appreciate the differences between the myriad of training options.
To cut through the industry jargon, and discover what’ll really work for you, have an in-depth discussion with an advisor with years of experience; someone that will cover the commercial realities and truth while explaining each certification.
Massive developments are coming via technology over the next generation - and the industry becomes more ground-breaking every year.
It’s a common misapprehension that the technological advancement we have experienced is cooling down. Nothing could be further from the truth. There are huge changes to come, and the internet significantly is going to dominate how we conduct our lives.
And it’s worth remembering that the average salary in IT in the United Kingdom is a lot more than average salaries nationally, so you’ll more than likely earn significantly more with professional IT knowledge, than you’d get in most other industries.
Due to the technological sector increasing year on year, it’s looking good that the requirement for professionally qualified and skilled IT workers will continue to boom for the significant future.
We can guess that you’ve always enjoyed practical work - the ‘hands-on’ personality type. If you’re like us, the world of book-reading and classrooms is something you’ll make yourself do if you have to, but you really wouldn’t enjoy it. You should use video and multimedia based materials if you’d really rather not use books.
Where we can get all of our senses involved in our learning, then we normally see dramatically better results.
Courses are now available on CD and DVD discs, where your computer becomes the centre of your learning. Video streaming means you can watch instructors demonstrating how it’s all done, with some practice time to follow - with interactive lab sessions.
You really need to look at courseware examples from your chosen company. They have to utilise instructor-led video demonstrations with virtual practice-lab’s.
Often, companies will only use purely on-line training; while you can get away with this much of the time, consider how you’ll deal with it when you don’t have access to the internet or you get intermittent problems and speed issues. A safer solution is the provision of physical CD or DVD discs that removes the issue entirely.
Wouldn’t it be great to know for sure that our jobs are safe and our work futures are protected, but the likely scenario for the majority of jobs throughout England today seems to be that security may be a thing of the past.
It’s possible though to find market-level security, by searching for high demand areas, coupled with a shortage of skilled staff.
With the computer industry for example, a recent e-Skills study showed massive skills shortages in Great Britain of over 26 percent. To put it another way, this clearly demonstrates that Great Britain only has 3 trained people for each 4 positions that exist currently.
Well trained and commercially grounded new employees are accordingly at a resounding premium, and in all likelihood it will stay that way for many years to come.
Unquestionably, now, more than ever, really is the very best time to join IT.

In the modern world, support workers who can mend PC’s and networks, along with giving ongoing solutions to users, are hugely valuable in all sections of industry. Whereupon we’re all becoming more and more beholden to advanced technology, we simultaneously become more reliant on the technically knowledgeable network engineers, who keep the systems going.
Working on the leading edge of new technology gives you the best job satisfaction ever. You’re involved with impacting progress around the world.
We’re only just beginning to comprehend how all this change will affect us. How we interact with the world will be inordinately affected by computers and the web.
The money in IT isn’t to be sniffed at also - the typical remuneration throughout Britain for an average IT professional is considerably more than the national average. Chances are that you’ll earn a whole lot more than you’d expect to earn doing other work.
The search for professionally qualified and skilled IT workers is guaranteed for many years to come, due to the ongoing growth in the technology industry and the massive deficiency that we still have.
Quite often, students have issues with one area of their training usually not even thought about: The method used to ’segment’ the courseware before being sent out to you.
Delivery by courier of each element stage by stage, as you complete each module is the typical way that your program will arrive. Of course, this sounds sensible, but you should take these factors into account:
What if there are reasons why you can’t finish every single section? Maybe the prescribed order won’t suit you? Through no fault of your own, you may not meet the required timescales and consequently not get all your materials.
To be honest, the perfect answer is to have a copy of their prescribed order of study, but to receive all the materials up-front. Everything is then in your possession should you not complete it at their required pace.
Be on the lookout that any qualifications you’re studying for are recognised by industry and are up-to-date. Training companies own certificates are often meaningless.
All the major commercial players like Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA or Adobe each have globally renowned skills programmes. Major-league companies like these will make your CV stand-out.
At the top of your shopping list for a training program should be 24×7 round-the-clock support through professional mentors and instructors. So many companies we come across will only offer a basic 9am till 6pm support period (maybe later on certain days) with very little availability over the weekend.
Locate training schools with help available at any time of the day or night (even 1am on Sunday morning!) You’ll need direct access to tutors, and not access to a call-in service which takes messages - so you’re consistently being held in a queue for a call-back during office hours.
Keep your eyes open for colleges that have multiple support offices around the globe in several time-zones. Each one should be integrated to provide a single interface and 24 hours-a-day access, when it’s convenient for you, without any problems.
You can’t afford to accept less than this. Online 24×7 support is the only kind that ever makes the grade for IT study. Maybe late-evening study is not your thing; usually though, we’re out at work when traditional support if offered.
